Program Diversity
Every aspect of The Service Station program is designed to provide opportunities for the young people in the community it serves. Student workers manage Service Station programs, supported by a network of volunteer corporate consultants. Every student worker has the unique opportunity to participate in the Partnership Trust Fund and develop business management skills while participating in a weekly small group committed to building Christian character.
The creative youth program includes:
• Partnership Trust Fund--All Service Station partners will be paid an hourly wage. Profits will be deposited into the Partnership Trust Fund in the partners name. These can be used towards their education and ministry goals.
• College Partners--The Service Station will establish relationships with key colleges, universities, and vocational schools for the purpose of helping to provide acceptance and additional scholarships for Service Station alumni.
• Enterprise Zone--Students manage all micro-businesses within The Service Station.
• Character Program--Every student worker is automatically enrolled in one of several small groups who work through a course in Christian character.
• Ministry Outreach--The Service Station coordinates scores of national and international outreach opportunities for ministry workers in Service Station facilities throughout the world. All workers are encouraged to participate in ministry outreach.
The Service Station program is focused on ministering to the community and the wide range of non-profit ministries that serve it. The benefits to the community include:
• Fund-Raising--Each week a community non-profit organization working with youth is featured at the Service Station Bistro. Ten percent of net proceeds from food and coffee sales is passed on to the ministry at the end of each week.
• Volunteerism--Adult volunteers are encouraged to participate in Service Station activities. Adults can volunteer in other areas such as mentoring micro-business supervising, encouragement, etc.
• Rentals--Space is available for community non-profit organizations to rent space at The Service Station. Corporate partners will be encouraged to schedule board meetings and corporate training programs in the Conference Center. Community groups can rent out the Auditorium/Performing Arts Center and churches and small groups can utilize rooms on a regular basis.
• Service--The Service Station will coordinate regular ministry outreach efforts to serve the non-profit organizations in the region.
