The Business Plan
The Service Station business plan is designed to appeal to young adults from ages 16-40.
• Income Opportunities—The entire income earned from the center is committed to youth and other ministries reaching out to youth in the community it serves. Proceeds from sales and rental are allocated to operational expenses, scholarship funds for teenage managers, community outreach, and international outreach. The business community is invited to avail themselves of conference facilities for meetings. The community is invited to enjoy meals and coffee in the bistro and churches and other groups are invited to use the Performance Arts Center. Event space is adequate to accommodate special events such as weddings, conferences, training events, and a concert venue will make it possible for the entire community to enjoy special events. There is a study area that is a quiet retreat with wireless internet service and comfortable small group areas are designed to host special meetings of 12-15 people.
• Programming—In addition to providing space for local businesses, churches, and ministries to conduct meetings and training, every student “partner” of The Service Station will participate in a long-term character building curriculum and will be offered opportunities to participate in The Service Station ministry outreach locally and throughout the world. Young people involved in micro-businesses will be required to take an additional course in entrepreneurial management. Every partner serving will be part of a larger community committed to personal spiritual grown and development. Regular outreach will take place every week with new discipleship groups beginning monthly.
• Benefit to the Community—In addition to the scholarship program available to all youth employees, a portion of proceeds from sales are distributed to charitable non-profit organizations. Individuals, churches, and businesses supporting the outreach of The Service Station are investing in the lives of young people and the ministry occurring where they live!
